DAVID VIZARD 496CI PICKS UP 27HP & 13FT LB WITH MS109!
Terry Walters Precision Engines, a full-service shop in Virginia that has been specializing in racing engines for the past 30 years, took a powerful David Vizard built 496ci Big-Block Chevy engine and dynoed it last fall. The engine did great achieving baseline numbers of 782 horsepower and 680 ft/lb of torque. Not bad!
Little did Terry and David know that their already powerful big block would reach a whole new level of Makin' Power as VP's oxygenated, unleaded fuel blend, MS109 was added to the equation. The engine was left unchanged apart from 5 degrees ignition timing advance and a change of jets (5 size increase) in the carburetor. The results were staggering as the MS109 was pumped through the fuel lines.
As the RPMs made their peak, there it was -- a gain of 27HP and 13FT/LB of torque with a simple fuel change to VP!
