VP ADDS NEW SPEC FUEL FOR DIRT BIG BLOCKS
D113 to Debut at UNOH DIRTcar Nationals in Florida
NEWARK, DE (February 8, 2012) VP Racing Fuels’ D113 fuel is the newest kid on the block in Northeast DIRTCar Racing and has been designated a spec fuel along with D12 as the only fuels allowed in Big Block competition for 2012.
“Spec fuels are meant to level the playing field and our D12 has been the staple in Big Block Modifieds for the last three years,” said Jim Kelly, VP’s Director of Racing Fuel Sales. “For 2012, we’re reminding everyone that at VP, ‘Makin’ Power’ is our mission and going faster is what we are all about. We are very happy the Modified racers and engine builders will now have an opportunity with D113 to make even more power than before.”
“Our 113 fuel has been in use throughout the U.S. for over four years now in both oval track and drag racing but was not a DIRT spec fuel so Big Block racers never had a reason to look at it,” Kelly continued. “Dyno testing by the premiere engine builders in DIRTcar racing over the winter showed significant horsepower gains, but of particular interest to the teams will be the additional torque they’ll pick up with D113. DIRTcar officials recently confirmed D113 and D12 are spec for Big Blocks while D113, D12 and D109 are eligible for use in the 358 Modifieds. D98 remains the spec racing fuel for the Sportsman division. Significantly enhanced tech inspection and enforcement of spec fuel regulations will begin in Florida and be implemented at all DIRT member tracks in the Northeast as the 2012 season opens this spring.
New D113 and D12 will premiere on the Super DIRTCar Series February 22-25 at Volusia Speedway in Florida. Both fuels will be available at the track from the VP Racing Fuels trucks. In the Northeast, spec fuels can be purchased from VP’s DIRT vendors and direct from VP’s regional distribution center in Delaware.
