SCION RACING TAKES ANOTHER PODIUM AT THE NEW ENGLAND FOREST RALLY
Round 5 of the Rally America Championship series, The 2013 New England Forest Rally, was Scion Racing’s fourth year at the event and experience has shown that its gravel roads are far from smooth and gentle on the race cars.
The tolls of rally racing showed from the start as the xD’s transmission had to be changed at the first 30 minute service. The change and re-prep of the car wasn't done within the allotted time and a time penalty was enforced pushing Scion Racing Rally xD down to last place after the first two stages. Luckily, the second day had three times the stage miles and with VP Racing Fuels’ MS109 powering the xD, the Scion Racing team had an opportunity to make up some time.
Even though front axles were broken, at two different times, and changed out for new ones at service, the Scion Racing Rally xD fought back into podium contention and would end the weekend's race in 3rd place. The 3rd place points keep the Scion Racing Rally xD leading in the series with two events remaining.
Previous to NEFR rally, the Scion Racing Rally xD campaigned in the 91st running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The event would mark history as a new record would be made by world renowned rally driver Sebastian Loeb. Scion Racing campaigned three teams in association with its marketing efforts within the region. Alongside the Scion Racing Rally xD was the Greddy Racing tC and the Evasive Motorsports FRS.
