HURRICANE MILLS, TN (8/17//2009) Rockstar Makita Suzuki Racing celebrated the end of the 2009 AMA ATV Motocross season with championship-winning style at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN. Powered by VP’s MRX01 racing fuel, Dustin Wimmer captured his second consecutive AMA ATV Motocross Championship after picking up fourth- and fifth-place moto finishes for an overall result of fourth place in the series’ final round.

“Everything went great out there,” said Wimmer. “My QuadRacer R450 was running perfect. It feels great to come back from injury and still be able to win the championship.” Wimmer raced to an impressive six overall victories this season and led the points chase for most of the year, a feat all the more impressive considering Wimmer was injured mid-season and had to sit out a round.

“After the struggles I’ve had this year, it makes winning the championship even better,” Wimmer continued.  “I went out there and rode smart. I knew I only needed five points so I played it safe and it paid off. I had so much adrenaline going for the first moto, but after that was over, I was able to relax a bit. I’ve had a lot of ups and downs this season, so I am really happy to be able to give Suzuki another championship.”
