SAN ANTONIO, TX (November 26, 2009) Mike Konopacki, of Hampton, Ontario, made AMA Dragbike history during the 2009 Championship Series, winning titles in an unprecedented three classes—Top Gas, Super Comp and Pro ET.   Powered by VP’s C44 racing fuel in Top Gas, and C14 in Super Comp and Pro ET, Konopacki’s three titles brought his career total to 16 championships. His “triple crown” is an amazing feat considering the caliber of competitors racing the AMA Dragbike Championship Series.

A drag racer for 30 years, Konopacki has competed in AMA Dragbike since 1991.   In fact, he still uses a Kawasaki for double duty in Super Comp and Pro ET, a Pro Stock bike built and designed by Fast by Gast as “state of the art” in 1991.   He estimates the bike has run “thousands of laps.”

Konopacki acknowledged that VP Racing Fuels is an important part of his program.   “I’ve used VP exclusively throughout my 30-year career and never had a problem with it.   It makes more power and it’s always consistent.   You can even store it over the winter and use it in spring.   I’m thankful to VP and our other series sponsors for their support of motorcycle drag racing.”

In addition to his season championships, Konopacki took the win at the World Finals in Super Comp and Top Gas, marking the fifth consecutive finals appearance for him in the class.   For the season, he made the final round 11 times.
