BLOOMINGTON, IN (JULY 1, 2010) A solid month of victories: most racers dream of it, few see it come to life, but VP Racing Fuels driver James Monroe ended June with a perfect record of 13-0.  A flawless month in drag racing is quite the feat, but the fact that Monroe’s 13th win took place at the Summit Racing Nationals in Norwalk, OH made it just that much sweeter.  Winning in one of NHRA's fastest classes, Top Dragster, Monroe now has a place on the books as one of the few drivers to ever post Top Dragster wins at both the divisional and national level.

At the Summit Racing Nationals, Monroe's car showcased dead-on consistency in his elapsed times despite track temperatures exceeding 130 degrees.

Monroe stated, "The car did exactly what I thought it would do all weekend from the opening qualifying pass on Thursday to the final round Sunday evening.  We work very hard to make this combination numb to atmospheric as well as track conditions and the extreme changes throughout the event played right into our hands."

Extreme changes were the perfect way to describe conditions for the final round. Rain clouds moved in and made for a slippery strip, but after four hours of attempts to dry the Ohio track, NHRA had the finals up and running once again.

"In the final I was fortunate enough that my opponent "turned it red" and I was able to run it through to see what it would have ran and we were essentially right on the dial-in.  It is a great feeling to finish a dream month with the biggest win of my career and I look forward to seeing how the remainder of the season plays out,” proclaimed an ecstatic Monroe.

Monroe looks to continue his torrid pace throughout July’s NHRA divisional events at Mid-Michigan Motorplex and National Trail Raceway.  Looking ahead, Monroe will attempt to defend his JEG'S Top Dragster Shootout crown he’s been holding since September 2008.

James Monroe continues to test VP Racing Fuels’ M1, M3 and M5 line of methanol fuels in his racecars as well as in dyno sessions with various engine builders.   Monroe is available to answer questions regarding these fuels and how they can help you achieve consistent success by dialing 812-327-1190 or visiting
