ATTICA, OH (7/01/2011) Jon Henry, in his UMP Late Model, started the Fourth of July weekend at Attica Raceway Park where he went from ninth place at the beginning of the feature event and worked his way to the lead position using VP’s Late Model Plus.

“I started 9th in the feature finished 1st!  I knew that I needed to get to the bottom as soon as I could to try and get myself in a good position.  Coming out turn two on the start I was able to get underneath three cars and went from 5th to 2nd in one turn.  From there I followed around the leader tightly waiting for an opportunity.  On lap eight the leader slipped up in turn one giving me the hole I needed to squeeze under.  Once I secured the lead it was all about hitting my marks and keeping my car clean of lap traffic, ” said Henry.

And keeping clean of lap traffic was precisely what Henry did. After shooting the gap Justin Chance left open in lap eight, Henry kept his car steady and moving fast to score his sixth victory of the season and 7 th career win at Attica. Now Henry is second on the all-time win list, three shy of Rusty Schlenk.

“It’s definitely great to be back at Attica,” Henry said. “This crowd is awesome tonight.

A day later Henry s tarted 1st in the feature race at Oakshade Raceway and led every lap for the win!  “Starting on the pole really takes a lot of pressure off for me.  I know we have a car capable of winning and if I just continue to hit my marks it was going to be tough to beat us,” said Henry.

Once the green flag waved the talented driver was able to pull out front and hold a consistent line.  Henry reeled in lap traffic rather quickly and cautiously passed one at a time.  After a caution free thirty laps he crossed the finish line almost a half a track ahead of second place!
