San Antonio, TX (March 29, 2018) VP Racing Fuels, Inc., today announced they have reached a multi-year agreement with Race of Champions management to secure Spec Fuel supply and series entitlements as Race of Champions Official Fuel, Lubricants, and Additives.
The Race of Champions is a sanctioning body presenting Modified and Stock Car racing on asphalt and dirt surfaces throughout the Northeast, with events in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The 68th annual Race of Champions weekend will take place in 2018 at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pa on September 27, 28 and 29. It is the second-longest consecutive auto-racing event in North America, second only to the Indianapolis 500.
Race of Champion series competitors will be given the choice of fueling with VP C12 and VP 110 race fuel blends. Series Director Joe Skotnicki was pleased to announce additional benefits of the new program, stating “The racers won’t incur any additional expense by switching to these VP products but they will benefit from the advantages of running VP products and a significant increase to their annual point fund.”
Drivers in the asphalt Modified Series will compete for an additional $2,500-to-win the Series championship pushing the title to be worth $7,500. Drivers in the Asphalt Sportsman, Late Model, and Dirt Sportsman will all compete for a minimum of $1,000-to-win each series championship and additional monies throughout the paid positions in each point fund, pushing the total cash point fund to over $50,000.
“This is a great addition to our VP Racing Fuels family of Series,” stated Marc Wesler, International Sales Manager. “Our brand is growing and we recognized a passionate group of racers within the Race of Champions and we are excited and truly proud to contribute to their program. We welcome them to our family and look forward to building a long standing relationship with them that lasts for years to come.”
To assist with the easy transition to VP products, VP’s technical department is available to engine builders, tuners, and racers by calling 302.521.1767 or emailing OvalTrackTech@vpracingfuels.com. In addition, VP will activate their sponsorship and introduce fans, racers, and track owners to VP’s extensive racer and consumer product lines with an on-site presence at selected events throughout the season.
Race of Champions management will offer competitors a two-race burn off period in all divisions for any fuel previously purchased or inventoried. There will be an informative meeting held on Wednesday, April 18 at 7 p.m., at the Genesee River Restaurant and Reception Center, with VP Racing Fuel representatives and Race of Champions management available to discuss the program and answer questions.
